Thinking. Learning. Creating.
In each activity I provide for my children, these are the things that I strive for the most. I want to make sure what they are participating in or working on will ignite their imagination, get them thinking and keep them interested long enough to teach them something. I try not to allow too much time for television and so I am always looking for different activities, games or crafts to teach them new things or help to explain different topics and keep them engaged.
Being encompassed by a quarantine this summer and possibly looking forward to a full-virtual school year, I am definitely ALWAYS on the lookout for new activities to keep my kids busy. The challenge lately is that they have become bored with doing crafts and playing the same games. Then I found Osmo.
The Osmo Learning System is like no other children’s learning or gaming system I have ever seen! Its unique technology allows children to use their tactical skills to make new drawing or creations and then the magic of Osmo brings their creations to life on their tablet screen. The system and its games are extremely innovative and engaging. Children are thinking, creating and learning, all through fun games – so they really do not even realize they are learning! To see what I mean, you can take a look at my videos below to watch my children play the games. Basically, whatever your child draws or creates on the Osmo pad can be magically transferred to the tablet screen so their creation becomes part of the game! It’s so much fun for my kids to explore and play (and I even think its pretty cool, too!)
There are many different games for the Osmo system. The different games teach a number of topics including, math, letters, numbers, drawing, coding, counting money/change and much more! There are games for different age groups, and Osmo also offers starter kits, such as the newly released Little Genius Starter Kit PLUS Early Math Adventure (age 3-5,) the new Genius Starter Kit Plus Family Game Night (ages 6-10,) and the new Coding Starter Kit (ages 5-10.). These starter kits include everything you need to get going with your Osmo experience, including the Osmo Base (there is a separate base for either iPad or Amazon Fire,) learning games, and the tools/ accessories you will need for each included game. We started off with the Little Genius Starter Kit and then added on a few extra games, including Pizza Co., and the Super Studio Frozen game, which my kids LOVE to play!!
If you are looking for something different that will keep your kids happy, learning, and using their imaginations then look no further than Osmo! You will be so glad you did! Your kids will love it and you will love that they are having fun and learning at the same time!
